Presentation: Multifaceted hazard and risk assessments in the Bow Valley near Canmore, Alberta; Matthias Jakob of BGC Engineering

Presenter bio: Matthias Jakob is a geoscientists based in Vancouver. He studied in Germany, Colorado and at UBC, did his Ph.D. on debris flow frequency-magnitude predictions and a post-doc on rockfall hazard ratings for CP Rail. His principal areas of expertise are comprehensive geohazard risk assessments for large capital projects as well as periglacial geomorphology. He's published more than he can remember which can be attributed to either the volume of his publications, early senility or both.
